Board to Honor Outgoing Director Ed Sprague and Appoint Replacement

At its May 19 meeting, OMWD’s Board of Directors will honor outgoing Division 5 Director Edmund K. Sprague, who will retire from the board following the May 19 meeting.

Mr. Sprague announced on March 17 his intent to retire, at which time OMWD Board President Larry Watt thanked him for his 13 years of devoted service to OMWD and its ratepayers.

“With Director Sprague’s leadership, OMWD has completed the Village Park Recycled Water Project, consistently achieved strong bond ratings indicating excellent financial performance, hosted several international delegations, been granted multiple District of Distinction awards, and received recognition for financial reporting every year he has served on the Board of Directors,” said President Watt. “Director Sprague will truly be missed.”

The board will conduct interviews at the May 12 special meeting for a new director to represent Division 5 until November 2022.

Individuals interested in completing the unexpired portion of the Division 5 directorship shall submit a completed application package to OMWD’s General Manager no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 30. Candidates must reside in OMWD’s Division 5. Applications, a map of Division 5, and additional information about the appointment process are available at www.olivenhain.com/division5.
