Water use efficiency is important to OMWD customers. That’s why we offer information on a variety of water-efficient products and rebates available for our customers to explore. OMWD customers have access to rebates that ensure water supply reliability in the future.

Some rebates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, until funding is exhausted. Rebate amounts may change without notice. Submittal of a reservation request does not guarantee approval or payment. Please note that the rebates made available at www.socalwatersmart.com may be subject to federal taxes.

For a Water Efficient Home

High-Efficiency Clothes Washer (single and multi-family) High-efficiency clothes washers use up to 55 percent less water and 25 percent less energy than conventional clothes washers, saving you water and money. Get a rebate of up to $85.

Premium High-Efficiency Toilet High-efficiency toilets use less water than outdated models, and flush the same amount of waste. 30 percent of indoor water use can be attributed to toilets. Receive a rebate of up to $40 on qualifying 1.1 gallons per flush (GPF) or less models. |

|
Flow Monitor Devices Flow monitor devices monitor your home’s water use and can help detect leaks. Select models can shut off water to the home remotely in the event a leak is detected. Receive a $100 rebate for qualifying devices.

For a Water Efficient Irrigation System
|

Soil Moisture Sensor System Soil moisture sensor systems measure soil moisture content in the active root zone on your property. The sensor systems tell your irrigation controller how long to water. Receive a rebate of up to $80 for properties under one acre, or $35 per station for properties over an acre, on select models. Please note, you can apply for a rebate on a soil moisture sensor system or a weather-based irrigation controller, but not both. |

Weather-Based Irrigation Controller Smart or weather-based irrigation controllers allow for more accurate, customized irrigation by automatically adjusting the schedule and amount of water in response to changing weather conditions. Receive a rebate of up to $200 if your property is less than one acre, or $35 per station if it is more than one acre on select models. Please note, that you can apply for a rebate on a weather-based irrigation controller or a soil moisture sensor system, but not both. |

Rotating Sprinkler Nozzles Rotating sprinkler nozzles use 20 percent less water than conventional spray heads by applying water more slowly and uniformly. Receive a rebate of $2 per nozzle (15 nozzle minimum) on select models. |
For Turf Replacement
|

Turf Replacement The goal of this rebate program is to replace existing grass with organic, drought-tolerant landscaping. Rebates of $3 per square foot removed (up to 5,000 sf) are available for replacing grass with sustainable landscaping. Please note, synthetic turf is not an approved conversion option. Beginning March 4, 2024, Turf Replacement Program applicants will be eligible to receive $100 per tree installed, for a maximum incentive for up to 5 trees ($500) per turf replacement application in addition to the turf replacement incentive. In addition, the installation of each new eligible tree in the turf replacement project area will count as three plants towards the total turf replacement project plant count requirement. |
For Harvesting Rainwater

Rain Barrels (50 gallon minimum) Collecting rainwater for future use not only conserves drinking water, but also reduces irrigation runoff that can carry pollutants into local waterways and beaches. Additional rain barrel rebate information can also be obtained by visiting www.socalwatersmart.com (call 888-376-3314). SoCal WaterSmart offers rebates of up to $35 per barrel (50 gallon minimum, up to 2 barrels).

Rain Cisterns (200-500 gallon minimum) Collect large amounts of rainwater and use it for lawns and gardens. Please note, that this SoCal WaterSmart rebate is limited to one cistern per property, and you can apply for a rebate on a cistern or rain barrel, but not both. Rebates of up to $35 for 50-199 gallon barrels, $250 for 200-500 gallon cisterns, $300 for 501-999 gallons, or $350 for 1,000 or more gallons are available. |

Premium High-Efficiency Toilets
Rebates up to $40 for select 1.1 gallon per flush (GPF) or less toilets.
Ultra Low and Zero Water Urinals
Rebate of $200 is available for consideration.
Plumbing Flow Control Valves
$5 rebate per valve is available (minimum of 10).
For Water Efficient Irrigation
Weather-Based Irrigation Controller
$35 rebate per station. Eligible Weather-Based Irrigation Controllers will be rebated only for active stations. Active stations are those that are physically connected to an in-use irrigation system.
Rotating Nozzles for Pop-Up Spray Heads
$2 rebate per nozzle (minimum of 30).
Large Rotary Nozzles
$13 rebate per set (8 set minimum).
In-Stem Flow Regulator
$1 rebate per unit (25 device minimum).
Soil Moisture System
$35 rebate per station. Eligible Soil Moisture Sensor Systems will be rebated only for active stations. Active stations are those that are physically connected to an in-use irrigation system.
For Turf Replacement
Commercial Turf Replacement
$2 per square foot (up to 50,000 sf) for replacing grass with sustainable landscaping. Synthetic turf is not eligible for the program.
For Water Efficient Cooling Towers
Cooling Tower Conductivity Controller
$625 rebate is available.
Cooling Tower pH Controller
$1,750 rebate available.
For Restaurants and Hotels
Connectionless Food Steamer
$485 rebate per compartment.
Air Cooled Ice Machine
$1,000 rebate available.
For Dental and Medical Offices
Dry Vacuum Pump
$125 rebate per 0.5 horsepower available.
Laminar Flow Restrictor
$10 rebate available (minimum of 10).
Recycled Water On-Site Retrofit Program
Visit www.bewaterwise.com/on-site-retrofit-program.html. Rebates of up to $195 per acre-foot for ten years of estimated water use are available.
