OMWD Invites Fourth Graders to Enter Annual Water-Smart Art Contest

*Due to recent school closures, the poster contest deadline has been extended to June 15.*

Olivenhain Municipal Water District encourages fourth-grade students living or attending school within its service area to enter by April 6 the annual poster contest hosted by North County water agencies.

Since 1992, this contest has taught students the value of water and the importance of using it efficiently. Participants will illustrate ways they “Love Water, Save Water” by reducing pollution, recycling water, or using water efficiently.

Contest entries provide OMWD with locally produced artwork to reinforce water efficiency and conservation messages to customers, while students earn prizes and recognition. OMWD will also present a classroom grant in the form of a $50 Lakeshore Learning Store gift card to the teacher of the first-place winner.

The 2021 water awareness calendar will feature OMWD’s top three winners, who will each receive a prize and certificate of excellence. Deadline for entries is April 6, 2020. Winners will be notified by May 15.
