Local School Programs
Children in school today are the leaders of tomorrow. We realize the important role these children will play in future decisions on growth, policies and water resources. For more information about our education and conservation programs for schools in OMWD's service area, visit the OMWD Schools page which contains information on annual contests, the CSDA teacher grant program, free auditorium performances and more!

Facility Tours
OMWD offers tours of the David C. McCollom Water Treatment Plant and the 4S Ranch Water Reclamation Facility several times a year. For information, please call 760-632-4641 or email us. The Olivenhain Dam & Reservoir is owned by the San Diego County Water Authority; please contact SDCWA for possible tour opportunities.

Notice:  As of August 1, 2011, the David C. McCollom Water Treatment Plant will not be a part of the tour as improvements to the plant are underway and it is currently a construction site. It is scheduled to return to the tour agenda in the fall of 2012.

Tours start at 8:00 a.m. at the OMWD office and end at approximately noon. The deadline for reservations is the Monday prior to the tour date. Tours may be cancelled or closed depending on the level of participation. For safety reasons, tours are not held during wet weather. Though this is a shuttled tour, there is some walking and stair climbing required, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing, as well as sunscreen and a hat. Bringing a camera and a light jacket is suggested.

Speaking Engagements & Public Appearances
OMWD employees provide outreach services throughout the year, including custom classroom presentations and informational booths at community events.  OMWD speakers can deliver presentations, facilitate discussions and provide general information about water issues for groups, civic organizations and associations.

Visit Our Office
OMWD’s lobby hosts a small library with material on gardening, irrigation, water conservation, and water industry news. Drop by when you pay your bill or when you're in the neighborhood.
