Olivenhain Municipal Water District (OMWD) operates two hydroelectric plants. The original plant is located at the Roger Miller Reservoir in the hills above Encinitas. This plant uses high-pressure water delivered from a nearby reservoir to power its turbines. That allows the plant to deliver a peak capacity of 450 kW.
